Now I have a period, but not in the last 2 months? Why?

I started my period just three days postop and it lasted for several days. I have not had one in the last two years! I was shocked to see come back. I can only think it was because I stop my hormone CombiPatch and I have not worn the patch since the week before surgery and now my surgeon said I can start wearing it again.  I've been off the pill for over a year, thought I was pre menopause, now it's back?  Has this happened to anyone?  Can I now get pregnant again at 47?

Hormones are released from fat cells so irregular bleeding is normal. I always used birth control to regulate my periods. I had a period for 9 weeks after surgery...seriously, not fun. Now it seems to be back on schedule. It has been easier for women who lose excessive weight to get pregnant so I would use precaution, it is not advisable to get pregnant for the first 18 months after surgery.

Good luck
