I've been on this site and have not been able to see a post regarding protein shakes. I must have missed it because I've been on here daily. I did a search and couldn't find a post showing a list of top or recommended protein shakes either so I'm posting it here.

What protein shake do you recommend that has the most grams of protein per shake? Are the premade better?

Hey Surgery date- sister...

In my arsenal I have Premiere Protein RTD. 30 gr protein - 11oz.
I also like the powdered Syntrax fruity flavors. 1 scoop - 24 gr protein
I'm also going to use Isopure Zero-carb RTD. I think it's 20 gr protein - 10 oz.
AND I'm going to get some Unjury unflavored protein to mix with jello, pudding, etc.

Go for Whey protein (unless you have an allergy/ sensitivity). Stay away from " protein shots" because it's made with Collagen protein which we don't really absorb well.

How's that?

Hi ParisGirl!

So you're surgery date is the same as mine? :) I tried adding you as a friend, but shows you as private. I'd love to share the journey with you considering we're going to be going through it together in a sense. :)

I've save your recommendations and will try them - thank you.

That's a lot of protein. I would only need 2 of those to meet my daily intake. I'll definitely try them out thanks! :)

The only ones I can tolerate are the Premier Protein shakes. I just tried the vanilla, as chocolate is my favorite, and it's pretty good. I added some frozen strawberries to it in my Ninja, and it came out to a nice snack.

I've heard good things about Premier Shakes and like that they're ready made which is perfect when I'm on the go which is every morning for me. :)

Unjury Chocolate Splendor powder for shakes, preferably mixed with unsweetened almond milk, is my go-to these days.  I will also have Unjury Chicken Soup protein when I'm in the mood for that.  Each contain 21g of protein per serving; the almond milk adds another gram.

I'll have to try almond milk...never had it before. :) Did you become lactose intolerant after the surgery? I've read that some do.

No, I was blessed not to become lactose-intolerant.  I actually depended on milk in the early postop weeks for much of my protein, but then I gave it up because I just didn't want to take in all of the associated carbs.
