Three Week Surgiversary - I hope some motivation for those starting their journey.

Today is three weeks since I had my surgery.  All is well.  I have no pain at all.  I've been back at work for two weeks now and I'm starting to exercise lightly.  I find my energy levels fairly low.  I tire very easily though from what I've read here on the OH it gets better.

I'm having no difficulties eating or swallowing everything on the pureed stage I'm in right now.  All my liquids are going down with no issues and I'm eating 70-100 grams of protein a day and keeping the carbs down to 20-30 with a caloric intake of 600-800.  I've experienced very little real hunger.  Oh, I do get cravings but they pass.

I've lost almost 45 lbs since the start of my journey 15 of it since my surgery.  I think I'm either a slow loser or I just keep hitting mini stalls since I lost 10 lbs in the 1st week and only 5 lbs since.  I'm not complaining.  I'm still losing.

This whole experience has been much smoother than I expected.  Maybe I'm one of the lucky ones but I don't think so.  I believe many of us have gone through these early stages of our new lives complication free.  Honestly, as much as I wanted this, I was scared to death.  I figured, how could a 60 year old man as obese as I am come through this without something going wrong.  Well, I was wrong.

So far, this has been a great experience.  I would do this again in a heart beat!

For all of you thinking about getting sleeved, do it!  Good Luck!

Thank you for your post - it is very reassuring! I'm having this surgery at age 39 and keep thinking I have 2 little ones that need me to be healthy. So glad to know you're doing great! :)
