What exactly causes the foamies? and why do I get hiccups all the time now? I never used to have them at all. I haven't thrown up since surgery but I do from time to time get the foamie thing. Pretty gross.

For me the hiccups signalled when my sleeve was full early on. I knew if I hiccupped only one or two times I'd be okay any more then I knew I over ate and foamies were not far behind. They are caused by eating too much or too fast. I still get foamies but they are a rare thing they lessened around month 3 same with the hiccups but I still get them when I eat too fast.

chew slowly, chew, chew, and chew some more or your food will "stack".  Our smaller stomachs are no longer are capable of holding much at a time or producing hydrochloric acid, so our bodies adapt by producing large quantities of mucus/saliva to help things along.

One of the first signs can be a runny nose indicating that yo have eaten too much or too fast
