Don't stress about getting the protein in this week do what you can do..
Water or Gatorade is very important to not dehydrate..
I bet getting a good nites sleep in your own bed will do wonders for you.
Take those pain meds if you need them..they are essential to your healing
If you are in pain, remember you just had a major surgery with 80% of your stomach removed...

I couldn't sleep in my bed but the couch wasn't bad. Woke up twice to take more pain meds.  It's so crazy to think that I didnt expect this much pain.  It is a major surgery! I don't know why I am so taken aback by it.

Congrats on being home! It gets sooooo much easier day by day. During my first week I was so physically uncomfortable with gas and I was such an incredible emotional train wreck. It does pass though (no pun intended). I'm sure you'll feel better when you get your dog back. Dogs are so amazing in helping to recover.

Thanks!  I would say I am definitely riding the emotional train wreck!  My dog is now laying between my legs and it's so nice to have her here.  I just have to keep her away from my stomach, which isn't easy since she likes to lay on it.

I'm glad you're home, and I hope you start feeling better really soon.  I would try to get in the protein you can.  Actually getting in protein made me feel a lot better and helped with the dizziness.  It really does get so much better.  Hugs

Thanks. I am actually slowly working on a premier protein RTD shake now.  It will get me 11oz and 30 grams of protein.  I know that can only help!  I am trying to hang in there and keep positive. It's hard though!

Aww, hon.  I remember how hard it was.  You are healing, exhausted, just had major surgery.  Be very, very kind to yourself especially during this period.  I diluted those Isopure RTDs with water and sipped that all day to get in my protein.  The grape, when diluted, tasted like watered down Koolaid and didn't leave the white, protein film in my mouth.  The protein chicken broth stuff was a life saver as well.  I'm giving you a virtual hug
