Finally made it home

Thanks for all the support on the earlier thread.  I am still having a bunch of pain and trouble drinking without that stuck feeling no matter how tiny the sip.  A shower did wonders but exhausted me and i was a little dizzy.  My mom set up my apartment with moving furniture around and stuff for me while I showered.  She has now gone home and I am alone for the first time since Sunday night.  My dog is still with her walker. I get her back tomorrow.

I am really hoping I turn a corner tomorrow.  I need some relief.

I know this is temporary and that each day will get better. I just want to fast forward to the better part quickly.

I guess i should start protein tomorrow, right?

Even though I have read sooo much and researched so much.. I feel like i am going to be an annoying newbie.  I apologize in advance!

Glad to here you are home.  Just keep walking tonight and sip, sip sip.  Did they give you the little medicine cups to measure how much to sip every fifteen minutes.  They had me sipping protein in the hospital.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Thanks.

They didn't give me any protein at the hospital at all. Just broth, tea and jello.  I couldnt tolerate any of it and just stuck to water.

I think my walking is done for today.  The shower took the last bit of energy that I had.  I will be asleep shortly, I am sure.  I will be sipping until then.

Glad to hear everything went good with your surgery. Remember to sip,sip and slow. I would suggest drinking something warm (Chicken broth) etc. that really seemed to go down better than cold drinks. Take care and Congrats!

Glad you r home and feeling alittle better. Everyday you will feel better. My first week home all I was able to drink was chicken broth and Sobe life water. They have lots of different favors and are zero calories. They are sold in most grocery stores. I also had lo calorie fruit pops. I couldn't even think about protein drinks or eating jello. After the first 5 days I was much better. I even went to a friends party seven days after surgery! . Walking really does help a lot! Good luck!
