Skin issues

Hi everyone,

I'm shocked to say that I'm already having issues with excess skin around my inner thigh area.  Does anyone have any remedies that have been working for them?  I am no where near the point where I would need plastic surgery (i just had my surgery in April) I've already lost 50 lbs. and feel great and I'm looking forward to losing even more as I embark on completing my first 5k in August. I was hoping some of you would have some suggestions for alleviating the skin issues.  I've got a vast amount of redness, skin is peeling and irritated.  I don't see my surgeon until August so I thought I would place a post to see if anyone has tried some form of cream or powder or something to help.  Any input would be helpful.  Thanks.

No remedies......

Start immediately going to your doctor to get treatments and documentation on your skin issues...... having a documented history will help in getting insurance to cover some future procedures.

visit your local drug store and look in the "ointment / first aid section."  they usually have a couple of branded items that prevent chafing (...sigh...usually located next to the jock itch stuff).  i use petroleum jelly but it does need a second application during warmer weather.  either way, here's a great article on the subject:

Baby powder has always worked for me to help with some of the rubbing issues. When its hot you do have to reapply, but it works. Vaseline does work too but to me it feels too sticky.

Right Now at my highest weight I use a cream called ALOEVESTA and it works wonders has aloe in it so its good for your skin to its supposed to help with moisture and chafing its just a cream that you rub in. usually can find it at your pharmacy or google it and order it, its like 5.99 a tube and lasts a long time

I would get a prescription from the doctor........even if it's over the counter..... get it written in your file.....

The key is that you "want" proof that your skin is and has been a health related issue....... than when it's time for plastics.... insurance will cover the procedures that are related to the health issues.....

You may want to document it with a doctor- it could help you get plastic surgery covered later on.

Definitely start documenting it with your doctor.

What Ive found that works the best is anti-perpirspant/deodorant...works wonders on your thighs, under your tummy, under the breasts.

I tell everyone about my secret now. Lol!
