I think the term in Economics for what you described so very well is "opportunity costs", that is, comprehending what a person "pays" in return for what is received. So often we are willing to pay way too much in health, peace of mind, etc. when we turn to food. We never get what we want from this encounters. Your hard work has paid out WITH INTEREST! You. Have much to be proud of. ****a-doo-da-do!

Thank you for sharing...I needed to hear this....my surgery is this Tuesday and the doubts and fears are starting to creep in....I a, beating myself up for going a little off of program yesterday but trying to put it behind me....I was at a loss of 22 lbs on Saturday morning then entertained friends and had a glass of wine and low carb beer and ate a little more than 4 ounces of protein....back on track today and tomorrow....

Perfect timing!  I was feeling a little down in the dumps today about this whole surgery thing.  I have the best BF and he tried to cheer me up by reminding me about what will be further down the road.  Your post really hit home!  Thanks for that!
