Yay for us craving veggies more than junk. Although, I will allow myself a little treat at times

My tastes haven't really changed.  I've always enjoyed a good steak, but I make filet mignon instead of ribeye now.  I've been a big vegetable eater for years.  I've never been a big pasta or rice eater, but I don't miss baked potatoes or french fries.  I still love sugar.  I dream about it, crave it, obsess over it, I bake beautiful cakes and tarts for other people and use cocoa butter to smell like a cookie in order to get my fix.  I guess that would be a new obsession - smelling like a cookie instead of eating one :)

Maybe I need to go back to smelling like a cookie too so I don't think about eating one all day long!!!

I think about eating cake or pie all day long.  Every day.  I just accept that I'm ****** with sugar.  I won't/don't always win the battle, but I intend on winning the ******g war.  I'm sassy today!

Snow Peas. cucumbers and Hummus

Greek Yogurt and chia seed gluten free cereal

Frozen Chobani Champion Greek Yogurt tubes

Protein shake every morning, standard breakfast, before my go to was cold pizza or the dreaded fast food breakfast.  Yikes.

Cottage cheese with fruit.

Lettuce wraps, of any kind.  Particularly Jimmy John's, when I have to grab a meal on the go.  Or on special occasions, PF Chang's.

Tomato Basil cheese sticks.

My dad's homemade jerky.

“Not many of us are living at our best.  We linger in the lowlands because we are afraid to climb the mountains.  The steepness and ruggedness dismay us, and so we stay in the misty valleys and do not learn the mystery of the hills.  We do not know what we lose in our self indulgence.  What glory awaits us if only we had the courage for the mountain climb.  What blessing we should find if only we would move to the uplands of God.?  JRM

Since I started solids, my obsession has been jumbo sea scallops from Trader Joe's. They are expensive, but I can only eat two at a time.

I started craving vegetables during my low carb pre-op diet. But I've always loved most of them. Right now I am loving mushrooms (roasted, sauteed, even raw) and grilled zucchini. I tried a little raw lettuce last week and it worked out well, so I see salads in my near future.

I've noticed I have not been craving sweets very much since surgery. The bad foods I do crave are salty, crunchy, greasy things (chips, fries, etc.) I think going low carb really helped with the sweets cravings.

I completely agree about low carb helping One of my yummy go to crunchy snacks is buying and cutting small strips of sweet red, yellow peppers and making a dip with plain Greek yogurt and a ranch dip packet and it is soooo good, even my kids love this dip. I usually take this to family potlucks
