How much weight did you lose on a 1 week pre op clear liquid diet?

I keep reading posts about pre-op liquid diets. I was put a liquid diet only one day before the surgery. I lost 14 lbs prior to surgery of which 11lbs was mandatory. Not sure what the medical necessity is for a liquid diet up to two weeks prior to surgery. The way my bariatric center does it... they make it mandatory that you lose 10% of the amount of weight that you want to lose. In my case I want to lose 110 pounds so I had to lose 11 pounds to qualify for the surgery. I had from February to June to do this and I accomplished the 10% by April. Had my surgery 10 days ago. So I guess that I question the medical reasoning behind the pre-op liquid diet. Seems to me that it is only a test of sorts to see if one can maintain a liquid diet because you sure have to be on one post-op.
