I am finally sleeved and went home on the next day Thursday but man oh man does this hurt.  When will it go away?  I am so excited and it has gotten better but I would really like to be able to move and not feel my left side hurt so bad.

usually hurts for a few days , take you pain killer , and walk it helps get the gas out of you , most of the pain is from the gas they use to inflate you

don't be surprised if you get a large bruise on your belly in the next few days I did and called my surgeon who said it was normal

Walk, walk, walk.  It gets better, but you need to help it along as much as you can.  Hang in there!

Is it normal to have a big whole for a incision?  My husband took out my drip pain meds and there is a hole in that area and look large.

The "big hole" could be a few things, one of which is called a seroma.  You should allert your surgeon to be on the safe side.

The day after surgery was my toughest day (also a Thursday), but there was noticeable improvement each day thereafter.  I was able to get off the pain meds that Saturday.  I hope you find relief soon.

I am three weeks out and still having pain in on the left side, difficulty picking things up off the floor as the pain is bad when bending or twisting.  Pain with getting up out of bed or out of a chair.  My surgeon said to give it one more week and it should be better.

I know it is all worth it but just wanted to let you know, don't be surprised if it lasts longer - some of us are just blessed, I guess.  But it doesn't mean anything is wrong.

Hang in there - there will be a reward! :)

I had my surgery Monday and Thursday was my worst day, BUT, we flew home and arrived at the San Diego airport at 7:00 am and got home at 1:00 am.   I was in major pain and having lots of trouble drinking.   Today is much better.   I have less pain and am more able to drink.  So, hopefully, you wlll be feeling better soon, too!
