How long does the aversion to sweet/protein drinks last?

I will be two weeks out tomorrow and am having a really hard time getting my protein shakes down.  The best I have done since being cleared for full liquids is two one day -- only got one in today.   Can't do the Unjury chicken soup or broth, either.  While I was on clears I was so excited that I would be able to have sugar free chocolate pudding on fulls and I can't stand that, either.  I feel stuffed after a protein shakes but also the sweetness is just too overwhelming.  (Never thought I would be saying that!)

I'm sorry! It can take a while, or it may never change. Some people say that their tastes change post op. For me, it was a matter of trying different protein drinks to find the one I liked best. I ended up with vanilla Muscle Milk. Easy to find at the grocery and tastes like vanilla slim fast to me.

Best of luck!

If the shakes are chocolate, try adding a half teaspoon of Hershey's cocoa to them. It tones down the sweet and makes it more chocolatey.
Other than stat, you just have to. Look at them like medicine and just do it.

Mine lasted until I found one I really liked and also when I started the pureed stage.  Keep trying to find a protein shake you might like.  I know it's difficult at first.

I thought most shakes were sweet too. I like the injury chocolate splendor and vanilla. I add PB2 to them to cut the sweetness. Seems to work for me!

The unjury chicken soup one...I dilute it double the water. I also jazz it up by adding a fat free bouillon cube of either chicken or vegetable flavour. I cut in some parsley or dill and let it infuse and then strain it to get a clear "soup". Now I drink it with the greens. For sweet protein powders I cut them with coffee, coconut or almond milk, regular milk and water. One scoop of protein powder (vanilla, chocolate, mixed in with some unjury unflavoured, or optimal nutrition mocha cappuccino for example) with two cups of coffee and some milk cuts the sweetness out completely and I don't add any sweetner to the mix. It works beautifully. I tried the nectar flavours and can't do those. Unfortunately. I have tubs that I think I will end up tossing...

I felt the same way after trying the nectar samples.  I read on their website that you can eat them plain (they designed them to be like a pixie stick type candy) and so I have been eating them that way and OMG so good!  I've been having a plain serving most nights with a spoon.  Delicious.

I've been having a real problem getting shakes down lately.  I loved Syntrax Nectar before, but it was making me queasy when I tried to drink it lately.  I usually just put it in a shaker bottle with half water and half soy milk, but this morning I put it in the Vitamix with ice and 2 tablespoons of PB2, and it was delicious!  The PB2 made all the difference.  It was like a chocolate peanut butter shake.
