Severe reflux right after VSG surgery

A friend of mine just has her VSG surgery 2 weeks ago and now is having reflux so bad she cant keep ice chips down.  Any one have this problem?

Tell her to get some pepcid complete. That is what my surgeon told me to get if I ever experience acid reflux after surgery.

I am 1 week out and from day 3 I started taking Prilosec recommended by my Doctor.  I feel great now!

I'm in the same boat Karen.  I had it really bad last night, and I really don't want to eat or drink anything.  I just put a call into my doctor's office.

If this has worsened over the last 2 weeks she really needs to talk to her surgeon and be certain she doesn't have a stricture. If she does not, then an acide reducer may help a lot. My reflux finally settled down after about 6 weeks.
