The Amazing, Kind People that I work With

Everyone that I work with has really been supportive of my surgery.  I ddn't share my journey until 1 week before my surgery but They were all so supportive and kept

checking up on me while I was out.  I returned to work today--(tomorrow will be 3 weeks from the date of surgery)--a little weak but I was ready to come back.

They all gathered together to welcome me back and

They collected a shopping fund for me-$1100---amazing.  can't wait until I'm ready to use it!  Lisa

It sounds like you have a great support group at work.  That money for clothes will come in handy during your journey.  Hit up the 2nd hand stores and then you can go wild when you hit goal!

how sweet is that!! you are loved and thought of kindly there....such popularity must be well deserved laugh

I'd suggest you hold off buying great clothes for a while, as you will not be wearing them for long...you'll be shocked at how quickly you'll out grown (under grow??) them.....I went walmarts for cheap tops, stretchy pants, and yes, you'll need new undies and bras....even my shoes got too big!  only things that still work from before are socks :)

take care, and best of luck to you!

oh, and mention to your friends/family to keep you in mind when they clean out their closets...I found people jump in an clean out closets sooner than then would have....i got tons of great things from them...anything you can't use, donate elsewhere.

thanks everyone!  I honestly couldn't believe it.  It was especially nice because I've had great support from my husband and sons but my parents and siblings haven't been the most supportive.  It's funny that the people I thought would be the least supportive have been my biggest cheering section!  and I plan to wait a long time before dipping into it and investing in some nice clothes---I'm hoping to at least get out of the plus size clothing stores!!  Lisa

That is soooo cool.  That support is so important.  You send a lot of time with these people so it's nice to know they are there for you.

I waited to tell my co-workers until I had the date.  I was not sure what the reaction would be.  I am so glad I told them.  They have all been so supportive!
