For the new......Cheats & Treats !

I am so on this page.  I offended someone recently by saying something about her occasional cheats and treats.  I got to goal in 9.5 months, (140 lost) Total loss was 371 lbs.  I wasn't perfect, BUT I also believed that I had spent my entire life eating crap (treats) so if I need to substitute fruit and healthy options for the rest of my life, I was okay with that.  Truly, I never felt I needed so have that cake or cookie!  *****ally cared who's birthday it was or who was retiring.  Let the others indulge.

Lost 271lbs with my LapBand in 22 months!  My Band malfunctioned and I gained almost 42lbs and then revised to the Sleeve 9/24/12!  I lost another 140 lbs with my Sleeve!  Loved the LapBand and Lovin' The Sleeve!

Smart man.  Some folks with certain recent posts should listen to him and reflect carefully.

The one comment I get most frequently, by far, is "you're the most disciplined person I know", or something along those lines.

it you really want it listen to Frisco.

I totally agree with staying away from temptation. I just started my pre-op liquid diet, and I know being around Christmas goodies will make it hard to stay on track, so I'm staying home for Christmas.

Sorry but I totally agree!  I did this surgery to change my life for the better and I while I am not perfect, I do not think that "cheating" is acceptable.  Actually that word kind of "ticks" me off.  Your not cheating, you are just not following a healthy plan and if you do it too much, it will slow your progress down but more than that you will probably continue to give yourself excuses and the weight will slowly creep back up because you never learned to change your lifestyle permanently.  It will not be that the surgery failed, it will be that you failed the surgery and will have no one to blame but yourself!

Sorry got carried away, and I am sure I have probably offended someone.  I hit my surgeon's goal in 7 months, my PCP's goal in 11 months (set after I hit my PCP's goal) and now I am working on getting to my personal goal.  When I started this journey, I never thought it was possible to get to a healthy weight nor to reach any of these goals but there are people on this site that have shown me that it is possible.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thank you so much! I was wondering what I would be able to eat at our family gathering tonight. I'm just gonna take a protein shake and not worry about it. Thanks for the strength in this post. It was helpful for me.

I don't like this post frisco ... wah.

Beeeeeee-cause ... it's just dead on right and I strayed 4-5 months out BUT I've learned or should I say I'm learning!!!!

Yes, even at 2.5 years out I can still take any refresher course I need.

I need all this reinforcement on a daily basis ... yes daily ... that's how often I need it.

Thanks ok, I can admit it.

I actually do love this post frisco & just so timely as always.

I wish you were around so I could give you a hug.  Happy Holidays my friend!!!

Thanks, Frisco.

I have this whole disassociating-food-with-holidays-and-events thing going on right now, so I really needed to read this.  I think it strengthens my resolve to continue to do that hyphenated thing I just wrote.
