Self diagnosis- thanks to OH

I have been struggling and concerned over a rash I developed and despite being on meds for thrush for over 6 days, I still have very dry and pasty mouth.

thanks to leads from oh members, it's pretty obvious that both are from ketosis.  I have since googled and read a number of articles and posts that make it pretty obvious.

spoke with surgeon, nurse, medical asst and visited primary care doc and no one even mentioned this.

while annoying, it's a good sign.  It results from a lack of carbs in your diet and causes the body to burn energy from fat , which is what we want.  And why low carb diets are generally successful.

My symptoms are still annoying but at least I can use this information to address what to do about it.

Good deal that you figured it out.  I had to come here too as my doctor never said "boo" about ketosis rash.  The good thing is that your body adjusts and it WILL get better.

The good thing about the yucky mouth stuff being from ketosis is that it will resolve itself after a couple weeks. It basically just your body detoxing. :-)
