Frisco- Pyloric Valve 101 (re-post)

Thank you so very much.  I'm only 5 weeks out, and this is great at helping me understand what's going on!  :)

This is the one post that finally brought everything together for me. Thank you for re-posting it. 

So Cottage Cheese, slider?

Yes,  But it is always a matter of degrees.  Dense lean meat is best, followed by fibrous veggies. Cottage cheese is much better than many other foods. 

I tell you when I was only a few months out I drank too early. I was drinking magnesium citrate to poop and just wanted to do it bad and forget abut the half hour thing. I tell you what I learned to not do that again. I was in so much pain. Even today when I had a salad with chicken with sirachi and buffalo sauce on it I did not drin****il and hour and a half later. My wife thinks I am nuts.

When I learned this, I understood how to use my sleeve. Thanks for re-posting.

 Hi: Frisco. You may not be a doctor, but your explanation of the pyloric valve is something neither my doctor nor my nut ever explained to me, excellent job. My problem is that I drink and eat at the same time; I need to stop this before my surgery.

Question, when we drink water only does the pyloric valve close also or does the water travel direct pass the valve?

Fluids should go right through an open pyloric....... can be up to two hours before the pyloric valve is completely open after eating a dense protein like chicken.

With an open pyloric I can gulp fluids like normal...... my gulping is a couple of chugs.... not a full can of Bud....
