OC Marathon here I come
How exciting! I don't like to run, but I do love walking and hiking and feel quite a sense of accomplishment when I finish. Best of luck with your time!
Jane
great job with the running. I can't even imagine running 16 miles! Good for you! You should be so proud of yourself!

When I saw this thread, I thought you meant an "OC" marathon on Netflix. LOL I was like, Oh, fun!! ;-)
I love to run now but I am just now getting to where I can almost do a 5k without stopping. Marathon is a loooong way away for me. Congrats!!

Awesome! I did my first full last October. I ended up running on an injury (IT Band Syndrome) and actually changed shoes the DAY BEFORE the marathon. But I actually got to run it, instead of walk most of it, which is what I thought I would have to do because I was in so much pain. But the physiotherapy, new shoes and determination got me through with a time of 4:31:35. I took it easy through the whole run. My goal this year is to qualify for Boston (my time has to be under 3:45) and i'm doing my first IronMan (half) in July!! Like you, three years ago I never would have thought it was possible! Go GO GO!!
Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!
