Once I Eat, Than I'm always hungry
Are you on a PPI? Excess acid can mimic hunger pangs. Even if you are already on a PPI, you might want to ask your surgeon about switching to a different one. A lot of people have to go through some trial and error before finding the right one.

I was on Daxalant also, but I felt like it made the hunger worse. It is a really strong PPI, but I found that it made me so burpy that I had to change to something else.

Currently, I'm taking Prevacid. It works really well for me. No reflux, no heartburn, and no crazy hunger pangs.

Rosie - I'm here to tell you that your doctor is dead wrong.
I won't speak to "heartburn" but excess stomach acid absolutely mimics hunger...at least what I've always assumed was hunger. I hit on a great way to figure out if my "hunger" was excess acid or not. I will pop a couple of Tums and if the "hunger" passes away real quick then it was acid. If it doesn't then I'm really hungry. And guess what? 9 times out of 10, it's acid. But keep in mind, I have one of the worst cases of excess acid my doctor says he's ever seen...and I take a PPI every day :-(
