18 pounds in 60 hours?!
On Tuesday morning I weighed myself at 277. Then I went to NYC, didn't weigh myself at all, and got home Thursday night. This morning, Friday, I weighed myself at 259.
I weighed myself three times, got the same thing +/- a few ounces. My partner then weighed himself and was 1 pound up from his Tuesday weight. So we're pretty sure the scale is accurate. (Batteries were replaced recently.)
Is it even possible that I lost 18 pounds over the course of 60 hours?!
(A post about my trip will come later, I promise. But right now - WTF?!)

Maybe? Although I know I got a bit dehydrated the first day I was there. I haven't mastered drinking while walking!

If I can "gain" 18lbs in 60 hours I am SURE it's possible to "lose" the weight as well. You are still recovering from trauma so you probably have retained water AND the body is just CRAZY. You could be dehydrated or just wonky, so I'd wait a few days post trip to weigh again and decide.
Did you pee alot while gone?
Take it any way you can! I lost 11 pounds in two days once, but it was right before I came down with the flu. It stayed off, but I didn't lose anything the week after.

Hi there,
I am a newbie at this but I have heard that three to six weeks post surgery your body goes into shock a bit and stubbornly trues to hold on to the weight. Then, suddenly it lets go and the weight just melts away. Maybe that has happened to you? I'm 4 weeks post surgery and I'm in the holding-on-to-the-fat stage. It's very frustrating for me right now when I eat very little and exercise so much. That's why I've banned myself from the scale. Good luck. I'd love to know if the 18 pounds lost stuck!
My weight loss has actually been really steady (but slow) since surgery. But this could be it, all of a sudden my body said "okay, you win, I'll give up this weight." :)
