Peaceful surgery, easy transition, grateful
So glad you posted this!! I, too, had a wonderful VSG surgery - no nausea, no problems, really no pain like I thought I would have. Smooth. My dietician who works with the doctor tells me to eat between 400 to 800 calories per day, concentrating on protein, but keep protein between 40 to 60 (no more than 80) grams?? I am 52 years old and have only lost 11 pounds in 4 weeks post-op (most at the beginning - none since I went on soft solids). Dietician says no worries, it'll start again. But I have to tell you I am concerned - good to read your post and learn that I am probably a "slow loser" - feel much better and plugging on - Thanks so much and congratulations!

Great to hear you had a positive experience! I love this forum, but I think easy surgery/recovery is a story that is not told often enough. We are very similar in age, weight, and surgery date in addition to being slow losers :). There are some significant advantages for us on the slow losers' bench--we will just have to forego some instant gratification and stay with it! Congratulations to you and keep me posted on your progress!
How inspiring your post is. I am glad your surgery went well and that you are well on your way to recovery.

Thank you so much for posting a positive story. Sometimes we get too hung up in the gory details and its nice to be reminded that the far majority of surgeries go well.
