Here is my $27 breakfast buffet this morning.

Sometimes this happens..... it is what it is !!!

In the big picture.... it's fine and it's gonna happen again and again.....

And to be fair, I've been in the same situation before and the server has noticed my portion and not charged me, or charged half.

I couldn't do it...mostly because I hate buffets.  All those people hovering over my food...ugh!

Been there, done that! HATE IT!

But like you say, it is what it is. It doesn't happen too often, but sometimes it just can't be avoided.

A few of my friends love to go to an Indian Buffet place (Cece58 used to go there all the time pre VSG!). I go along and order a spicy chicken appetizer. The appetizer gives me 4 to 5 meals. Gives you an idea of the portions this place serves. The buffet is good, but.... whew.... no way anymore!

This happens to me when I travel. I too hate it, but it is what it is. Sometimes, I just have Alan order and sneak a few bites off of his plate. I know, I know, that's cheating...oh well, sue me.

I actually once had someone laugh at me at a buffet when he saw my plate and how pitiful it looked. I always keep that little card that Dr. C gives us that explains that we had surgery and please only charge 1/2 price or let us order off children's menu. It works most often. Otherwise I just chalk it up to the price I pay for being beautiful!

Yeah... if I am somehow forced to go to a buffet, I whip out my little kids meal card from my surgeon, and if they won't charge me kids price, I just won't eat there! :-P

When faced with buffets like this it helps me to remember that for years I got more than my money's worth--restaurants do not owe me anything!

consult weight 241 (had not been accurately weighed for over 10 years, my medical records just said "wheelchair") high weight was probably closer to 260.

I no longer think wow I need to get my money's worth and go back for seconds. Now I look at it as a opportunity to make a better food  choice protein etc...than eating a cheaper Bagel or other fast food. sandwich.  So having the option at a buffet when traveling are sometimes worth the price.
