I start my preop diet on Monday. I was thinking about picking up some Isopure Zero protein water but it is a bit pricey. Does anyone know of a similar product that is a little less expensive? Has anyone mixed unflavored whey protein isolate with Crystal Lite and water to get in protein and if so, how does it taste, is it chalky or does it mix up clear?

On a side note, I just found out that there is a Vitamin Shoppe about 35 miles from me, I am going there today, I'm so excited

Right after surgery the nurse made me crystal lite, the hospitals protein powder (sorry I forget the kind they used) and ice....blended it together and it tasted pretty good. She did say that if I mixed the unflavored protein with jus****er it would be nasty but I could use crystal lite and it would taste fine. I think I would even prefer that to isopure. You could always try the sample packs to make sure you like it before committing to spending a lot of money. Good luck :-)

Thanks for the reply. I will see if Vitamin Shoppe has samples that I can buy.

My recommendation would be to get as many different brands and flavors of single servings that you can find, and then tuck them away until after surgery.  Whatever you have today will taste completely different post-op, so be prepared to try many alternatives.
