New Here
So, my name is Whitney and I'm scheduled for my vertical sleeve for the the last week in Oct. 1 week away from my 2 week liquid diet. My dietician challenged me to get on here for support. Very akward thing for me to do being a psych nurse and usually giving the support but willing to give it a try. Nerves have definitley settled in. Having cold feet but trying to stay postive. Biggest fear is day of surgery, and being away from my baby girls. Any advice from anyone with little ones to help settle nerves? Did they visit you in the hospital? etc.
Welcome to you.

My daughter was almost a year old when my husband and I both had the surgery at the same time. She did come visit us for a few minutes but due to her attention span did not stay long. It was good though. We reminded ourselves many times in the hospital that although we missed her very much we were doing this for her, to be active parents and around longer for her, so totally worth it to us (although not always easy).
I don't have advice other than to say do everything you can to keep a positive and upbeat attitude. I'm a fellower NEOhio-er....not sure where you are having surgery but all of the programs around here are great. I'm sure you will receive the best care!!
