6 month surgiversary with pics!
Today is my 6 month surgiversary and it's hard to think that I could be happier than I am today! I am very blessed and grateful that this process has been pretty easy for me so far - no pain or nausea after surgery at all (a very different experience than the gallbladder-from-hell surgery last year), an easy transition from liquids to solids, and not much hunger to speak of. For a carb fiend pre-op, I've had a relatively easy time keeping the carbs low (less than 40g) but I attribute that to having eliminated ALL starchy carbs from my diet. This may not work for everyone, but it has been my saving grace.
Things I've lost in 6 months:
- 92 pounds!
- Lots of inches (I don't have my measurement list in front of me, but I think I've lost 8+ inches from my waist alone)
- 5 jean sizes! (From a tight 28 to a well-fitting 18)
- Shirts from 3X (+) to an XL
- 20 minutes off my 5k time!
- 1 full shoe size (from a 10 to a 9)
- Almost 2 full ring sizes (from a 10 to a tight 8)
What I've gained:
- SO much confidence
- More energy and drive to get fit
- A wardrobe full of clothes that I love instead of just happen to fit into (all clearance/second hand finds of course!)
- The realization that getting to my goal weight IS actually possible and not just a pipe-dream
