Feeling stuck

I feel like I'm in a weird place. I'm waiting for my consultation with the surgeon and I find myself in a strange place. I don't want to lose any weight. I Can't believe I'm actually saying that! I'm at the border between a bmi of 39 and a bmi of 40. I really can't afford to lose any weight but I also don't want to gain any. I've never been in this type of situation before. I have my consultation in 3 weeks. I'm just wondering if the next 3 weeks will be like this. 

If you have any co-morbidities, such as 

Arthritis

Sleep Apnea

High Blood Pressure

High Cholesterol

Type 2 Diabetes

most insurances will accept a BMI of 35.  I had a 35.6 with 4 co-morbities. I'm an overachiever. 

I was told that I shouldn't lose any weight until I got approved.
