Questions ~
My first appointment included meeting with the insurance specialist, bariatric nurse practitioner, dietician, exercise physiologist, and surgeon. Lots of talking about current eating and exercise habits. I had my metabolic rate tested and was tested for h. pylori in addition to the standard physical exams, weighing, measuring, blood draw, etc. However, each practice varies in how they conduct their intake appointments so my experience may not predict yours at all. If you want to know exactly what is going to happen at your appointment, don't be shy about calling them and asking. It's good to get in the habit of asking them questions!
I kind of doubt you will see the medical professionals all that time . Probably its paperwork, sitting around, etc.
My first appt consisted of an exam, a discussion with the surgeon over which procedure I wanted, A medical weight management session with the NUT. A discussion of what's required by insurance and the practice, but still I bet I was only with the professionals an hour, tops. The rest of the time its typical hurry up and wait. (And don't be late!, They can be, you can't.)
