Congrats!  It was really one of the best decisions I could have ever made to myself.

I am a little over a year out and have lost all my weight.  I am terrified of regain, but my sleeve is there to help me.  I was surrounded by food this week w/ the holidays and if we put the right stuff in it, it makes it so easy to keep portions small!

Good luck -- follow your plan and use the initial phase to really change the way you think about food. :)

I'm new to this forum and I'm finding the differences in how each program works so interesting.  I had to decide at the beginning of my 6 months which surgery I was going with. What had you been contemplating as another option if you don't mind me asking.

Best - April

Biggest adjustment is learning to eat slowly, don't drink while eating, chew thoroughly, etc.  It is mind boggling to me that I can only eat about two to three tablespoons of food.  I now pack my food in containers that would normally hold condiments!  Learning to cook MUCH less, unless you plan on eating leftovers for a month!  LOL  some days I try foods that just don't agree with me anymore and itcan make you feel quite sick for a little while.  That is probably the "worst" part.  Not bad considering how fast the weight is coming off!

Thanks! I know one of my biggest problems currently is that I am a fast eater. I know that is something I won't be able to do and have been trying to work on that now so hopefully it won't be too difficult when the time comes.

I was too.  While eating mindfully I wouldn't dream of going fast.  It would hurt!  But do far, twice I have been busy while trying to drink a shake it eat some yogurt.  I gulped too much and too fast.  It was unpleasant.  That's why they say don't eat or drink while distracted!

You will absolutely LOVE your new sleeve. I had surgery 12/4 and the day after surgery, I didn't even feel like I had surgery. No pain and my incisions didn't even hurt. I think the hardest part was being on a liquid diet 2 days before surgery and then it continued until 2 weeks after surgery. But when I started puree, I started feeling myself again. My advise, do exactly what the doctors tells you do. We all have different plans. But stay focus on allowing your new stomach to heal and stay on YOUR doctors plan. Good luck. Christine
