final weigh in today/doubt setting in
I have my final weigh in today in about 2 hours! Nervous as all heck!!!! Surgery next Monday. Anyone else having surgery next Monday? I'm getting really nervous and wondering if I am making the right choice. I believe deep down I am, but the doubt is setting in. Is this normal?!

Absolutely normal. This is a big deal and a permanent lifestyle change. As my surgeon told me, "the fact that you're nervous means that you understand what you're getting yourself into, and that's a good thing!"
You can totally do this :)

I actually couldn't WAIT for my surgery. I was more nervous that something would be off in my preop testing and it would have to be postponed. Best decision ever. Good luck to you.

As everyone has said it is normal I second guest my self all the way to the operating table as a matter of fact once I was wheeled in I thought to myself I changed my mind. The nnext thing I knew I was in my room all done and really not a whole lot of pain never had to take any pain medication but everyone is different. Four days later and I am walking 3 miles aday. I do not have a lot of weight to loose but I have tried 3 times and have lost at least 80lbs each time and gained it all back to the pound so that brought me to the conclusion that I can not do this a lone, I need help and this is the best choice I have ever made. Good Luck to you!! Oh and my follow up and weigh in with my surgeon this Friday.

You'd be crazy not to worry. But you're going to be fine. I was, and I'm the biggest chicken around. It's so natural to have these feelings. I went overboard, I make a last will and testament, make my funeral arrangement, because I was in my head, going into the "big unknown". I can honestly tell you I had NO PAIN, the most I felt was tired, some nausea, and a little dizzy if I got up too fast.
Once you start eating, then its all about learning what your stomach will handle and how much. For the first time in my life, I actually am doing what is best for my body. I've lost 110 pounds as of today, and I am so EXCITED! You are going to love it, and wonder why you didn't do it sooner and wonder why you were nervous. Look Luck and God Bless you.
Use all your resources available. A good friend, a good nutritionist, all the nurses and doctors who want to help and a support group. Remember, Its just a tool, but you need to use all the resources available. There is a reason, because you can feel a little overwhelmed by the changes to your life and your body. Emotions are up and down too, there are hormonal changes due to the loss of fat. I am told that there is estrogen stored in fat.
I hope this is helpful. Take care and Happy Surgery!!!
