Hey all,

Wondering if anyone out there has a tried and true Greek yogurt cheesecake recipe, ideally with no cream cheese. I did find a few online, but hoping someone out there has one they actually like :)

Even though I have my standard Cheesecake recipe.. the creme de la creme.... I have also made cheesecakes just throwing all my partial containers of cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, yogurt, sour cream, heavy cream and/or cream cheese...to use up whatever I have lingering around my fridge. Take a basic recipe you like and use the same volume. Main thing is the egg to volume ratio so it sets. I always do add the Tbsp or two of flour they call for... as there is some scientific reason for it according to one of Alton Brown's episodes of Good Eats. I also use a combo of lemon juice and vanilla, not just vanilla.

If you are using the IP it should come out creamy.

Ok, attempt number one is in the IP. The batter was a lot thinner, but called for a lot more flour than a regular recipe. Hoping it won't be too cake like. My yogurt was not strained to a true greek- maybe that is why it is too thin. Anyway, thank you for the advice. If you have a moment I would love yur perfect cheesecake recipe- trying to perfect a few over the summer so I can make and give as gifts over the holidays.

If you add a load of dry milk to your pre-yogurt mixture, it makes the yogurt a great deal thicker. I  barely strain mine now and get super-thick greek yogurt (A cross between cream cheese consistency and creamy peanut butter, for an idea.).

Might make it work out better for the cheesecake.

I ran out and keep forgetting to buy more at the store. Thanks for the reminder! The cheesecake was pulled out about an hour ago- aside from a little too long in there (it was not jiggly in the middle, but not burned looking) it actually looks pretty good. I am looking forward to sampling it later- but in general it looks like cheesecake!

This attempt was pretty lackluster. It was Ok, but had a different texture and lacked flavor. If I find something that works well I will post.

The one I use is like a baked cheesecake but is made with protein powder, casein powder and Greek yoghurt.

1cup Greek yoghurt

3 scoops protein powder and same of casein powder

half cup milk or more to mix to a smooth paste

place in a silicone loaf pan, put one litre of water in slow cooker place in loaf pan and cook on high for 1.5 to 2 hours it rises up then when cooled collapses.

put a tea towel under slow cooker lid while cooking.

so easy to make and eat.

I will try it just to see how it turns out- this wouldn't be a gift type cake unless of course it is for a fellow bariatric patient. Thanks for posting!
