We had left over boneless turkey breast that we grilled last night. Mixed up 1 cup plain FF greek yogurt with 1 tablespoon of harissa paste, and let that set for 30 minutes (overnight is better on that). Diced the chilled turkey, added the harissa yogurt sauce, and diced up spicey butter pickles. This went on a bed of lettuce, and it would be very good like this for the low carbers. We had leftover corn on the cob, so cut the corn off and sauteed it with some banana pepper (it is all we had) and some salt and pepper, and added it to the salad. Tasty and good for you! Even the hubby who is not a big fan of lighter meals liked it!

The harissa yogurt sauce works very well subsituted for mayo on a sandwich that has grilled meat also. I am going to try it with tuna, but not sure about that. Anyway, a little different and uses up all of those leftovers we all seem to deal with due to our smaller portions!

Good to read. I will try it today- much better nutritional profile than using mayo!

What is Harissa yogurt sauce?

This is a sauce/spread that you can use on a ton of different foods. It is 1 cup greek yogurt (I use fat free) plus 1 tablespoon of the harissa paste. Harissa paste is one of my new found favorite ingredients. It is a spicy paste that has a blend of several spices. Deeeelicious on meat, in soups, etc... adds a lot of flavor to all kinds of stuff!

I have never heard of Harissa paste but I am certainly going to seek it out now and see what it is!

Here is a link- this stuff is awesome!  I used the harissa yogurt sauce to make tuna salad the other day (no mayo, increased protein, decreased calories) and it was wonderful. I will never use mayo again. It is also good on a chicken sandwich or in general on grilled meat.
