In danger of not qualifying
I understand where you are coming from, as my highest BMI was over 130. However as with chronic pain, how much we suffer from obesity is relative. Someone who weighs 220 pounds may be just as miserable as I was at over 750. Even now, over 450 pounds of loss later, 200ish is amazing to contemplate for me. For someone else, though, that is their own personal hell.
Self-expression is fine. Even when I was doing the BBS thing on the internet, this was always an issue long before social media existed. It's humans being humans. Sadly, social media is often devoid of empathy. Rather than pointing fingers it's better to simply engage in it ourselves.
I am mentioning this out of courtesy, because I don't really think you are intending to be a jerkface on the internet. However, right now, you only appear to be a jerkface on the internet, and that is unfortunate, because I don't think you are a jerk or an idiot. Unfortunately the salience of your points and the context of your statements is getting lost in the way you are portraying them.
I have never even read your posts before and this is my impression. Again, just take a step back from your annoyance for a moment and breathe before you react.
I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

Hi all,
Thanks for the replies and I certainly didn't intend to stir up anything.
First off the OP is a guy :-)
Being 5'3" even 200# is a BMI of 35 and is obese.
Being overweight most of my adult life has brought with it a host of other issues from Sleep Apnea to Glaucoma, including hernias. There is nothing I want more than to get off this cpap machine.
A lifetime of experience has shown me that the weight comes back and usually brings friends.
I am ready to change my life and habits and have discussed this in-depth with my wife who is very supportive.
I was told this board is a great support group. I certainly hope so.
Thanks, Don
