Come join us on the daily menu thread too. If you plan what you'll eat ahead of time (and weigh and log everything), you're more likely to stick to it.

Okay that sounds awesome! I'm new to this site how do it find it?

It's in the same sub-forum where you posted this thread (Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy forum). Click on the Forums link at the top left of the page and choose Vertical Sleeve - VSG from the drop down menu. You'll find one started every day in the running list of threads. It's a great way to get ideas, stay accountable, and get to know each other!

It that scheduling happens this time, maybe use the month in between to find a new therapist with greater availability?

I schedule right after my visit and it's usually a month out for her to have openings due to my schedule also because I can only go on certain days due to my daughter being in daycare and my work schedule. I really like her and I went thru a few therapists to find someone I feel comfortable with. I'm just going to talk to her about getting in touch with her more often whether by email, phone possibly in between appointments. Thank you!

You may need to see your therapist more than once per month (if you can afford to) and you need to make sure you are seeing one who will hold you accountable to not 'phone home' during the sessions and to talk about where you made mistakes.

For me, setting hard, fast rules that I do not ever break has helped me, but that is 100% my personality - Type A and a control freak. I have identified foods that I simply won't allow back in my diet because I know what they did to me before. It's literally a willpower game every single day. It will be really important for you to pay attention and treat your depression because it's hard to deal with anything else while you're struggling with depression.

I think I'm going to have to set those rules again. I was being to lenient with them but I just don't have the willpower to have "just a bite". Im going to see if I can communicate with her more often either by phone or email. Shes pretty booked most of the time but I'm going to have to make a plan and stick to it with my eating and hold myself accountable. Thank you!

The most successful vets here are years & years out and still eating on-plan nearly 100% of the time (accounting for human error of course). We are food addicts just like other people are drug addicts. How well does it work to have 'just a little' heroin?
