Fatty liver?"Modified"Atkins diet

Hey guys,

My doctor said I have a fatty liver which is to be expected because of my size but I'd like to know things I can do before the surgery to make it not so "fatty". Any ideas? And what exactly is the modified atkins diet...I know what the atkins is but modified?

Hey, There is a writeup up about it in the binder dr mo gave us.  It's basically high protein low carb.  It's towards the end I think.  I'm at work and dont have my binder with me but I'll check when I get home.

The Dr. wants you to loose the weight around your liver so when he operates it will be easier for him to move around...  LOL  one of the first things I asked my surgeon after surgery was if my liver was fatty...  haha.  I was so affraid it was going to be fatty and he might injur it by moving it with a bunch of fat on it...  The surgeon said the first place you lose weight is your liver...  so im sure you will do fine...  I think they just dont want to hurt you...  =)

I have fatty liver too and have been told that the diet before my surgery should shrink it. I don't know much about atkins...sorry!
