Not a nice subject WARNING Gross.....Constipation 1 week out
You said you already take magnesium. How much and what kind. I take the kind Vitalady recommends, magnesium oxide 500 mg twice a day. I also take Miralax (generic) daily, as well as fiber and probiotics and I haven't had much of a problem going on 2 months.
Good luck to you. I know how miserable it is. I gave myself a hernia from straining. That is when I knew I had to find a routine that worked.
When I would get desperate I would use milk of magnesia, enemas and suppositories. I was close to going to the ER so I know how bad it is. Impactions are the worse. I got those when I took ground flax meal so now I am careful with it and only use a bit.

I take 2 -4 colace a day (100 mg each) miralax in my AM protein shake and magnesium as well. Sometime I add a second dose of miralax in my evening shake if I have not gone yet. For awhile there I was pretty regular but then I back off the routine and am having a problem again. So even once you feel better keep doing what you are doing to stay regular.
The magnesium supplement I take has these ingredients,
Magnesium Oxide (Magnesium 320mg) 530.7mg
Manganese sulfate monohydrate (Manganese 5mg) 15.4mg
Pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6) 50mg
I only take one per day so not sure if I should increase this to two of them? Some actually came away this morning but I can still backed up to the eyeballs and it's making me feel quite miserable. I aso took late yesterday a couple of Senna tablets which contain 8mg of Sennasoide leaf which is supposed to be a natural softner. Something has to work.
