Any other lightweights have a ONE (now going on) two week stall?

I know, I know my body just had major surgery, it's adjusting and I shouldn't compare it with others etc (I've googled the group before whining to you all but couldn't help asking to see who esle who may have gone through it) but I just find it so hard to believe that I go from eating around 2000 calories a day to barely 300-400 and lose nothing and even gaining a half pound?!  I was a self pay and am starting to wonder if I have done all of this for a lousy 10 lbs...

If all you're getting in is 300-400 calories you need to add some protein shakes. Maybe you're not eating enough or you've lost a lot in the past few weeks and your body is taking a break. Happens all the time. Hang tough, the weight will come off!

Are you getting 64 oz of fluid, 80 g of protein?

I didn't have a stall that long early out but I certainly bounce around these days and have since Jan.  Stay off the scale.  It will make you crazy.  Eat according to your plan.  You will lose.  You just won't do it all at one time.  I stayed swollen for weeks and gained water weight from surgery.  You have to give your body time to adjust.  It will work for you if you work your plan.

At the 2-4 week mark post surgery I basically didn't lose.  Baffled the hell out of me as I also kept thinking about my calorie intake.   I knew though from reading on here that it is VERY common to have a stall around 3 weeks.  SOOOOO, hang on.  It will start coming off.  Also, as Price suggested, stop weighing so often.  I started trying to weigh just once or twice a week....this helped me from getting resentful and to stop my obssessing.  The # right now on the scale is just temporary,.  Hang on!  The # WILL come down!

i didn't lose anything the first week after surgery, then I lost a lb a day for 10 days.  Go figure.

Go ahead and whine.  You're only 2 weeks out. You're ALLOWED to whine at this stage in the game. Earlier posters gave you great advice.  Walk, sip, follow your plan.  You'll do fine.

Thanks so much everyone, I appreciate it...I need to just stay away from it! (the damn scale that is)
I know there's no way I am over eating and while I may not be getting ALL my protein in I am darn close (it's HARD in week 2) I will march on! xo

Hey Sleeve sista!

I remember when that was going on for you.... and you had some tough times with losing your sweet doggie just after that.  And now things are better?

It sounds to me like your'e not eating enough.  Like you said you've gone from 2000 calories to 300-400.  Your body is in shock and it's pissed that you aren't giving it the food it is used to.  The good news is that your body will adjust to the lack of calories and the weight will start coming off again.  The bad news is this won't be the last time you stall.  I've stalled once in my 7 weeks since surgery.  When I looked at what I was eating I was getting aroun 450-500 calories a day.  I upped my calories and my protein and the weight started coming off again, slowly but it is coming off.  I also didn't lose an ounce during the first week, but I had a ton of water weight on me.

I promise 10 pounds isn't all you are going to lose.  You need to be realistic though.  This is a big change for your body and it is going to fight it.  Our bodies are amazing machines though and adapt to the changes, but not without resistance.

I went into this knowing that I was going to stall at some point.  You are going to have days where you may gain a few pounds.  Usually this is water weight or from other fluctuations within our bodies.  It passes and the weight inevitably comes off.  Try to be realistic with the expectations you are placing on your body and your surgery.  If the scale is stressing you out, don't get on it.  I weigh daily, but some people can't handle that and should only weigh once a week or once a month even.  I weigh daily, but I know in the back of my mind that my weight will fluctuate.  I will have days that I won't lose.  I will have days that I may gain.  None of that matters though.  I keep reminding myself that I have this amazing tool now and I will lose as long as I work it to the best of my ability.  Positive affirmations have helped me a ton in staying grounded during this process.  I'd recommend trying it.  When you feel the negative creeping in, tell yourself the opposite of what you're feeling.

For example, you said that you are starting to wonder if you did all of this for a lousy 10 pounds.  Tell yourself, "I've lost 10 pounds that I KNOW I will keep off.  This is the beginning of my journey and I will reach my goal."
