First off, all you ladies are amazing. I have learned so much from this forum and feel like I have a real community. Next, I'm 5 months out from surgery as of now. Just recently, I have a terrible burnin sensation in my stomach when I eat or drink anything and I'm also very nauseous. It is hindering me from eating or drinking anything. I know I need to see the doctor, but my main concern since it is Friday afternoon and I'm not able to see a doctor until Monay at the very soonest (it would probably be the end of next week or beginning of the week after with my doctor.) Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks ya'll!

IMHO, it sounds like acid reflux are you on nexium or prevacid or something like that. If not I would try to get some at the drug store and see if it would work. If continues or gets worse call the Dr or head to ER to find out. Good Luck

Yep - try a PPI.  Sometimes the OTC ones aren't strong enough and you may need a prescription strength.

I agree with acid also. Until you can get in to see the dr,get some prilosec or Prevacid over the counter and take 2 which is the equivalent of the rx strength. I would take them in the am about 30 min before you eat or drink .

In the long run it might be cheaper to get a r but this would get you thru till you can se him.
good luck and keep us posted,
Holly

I've had this for about a week or so and my surgeon advised me to start taking a  PPI (double dose initially.)   I started taking them on Tuesday and by Thursday the burning and nausea were gone.
