Hello

Im 5'9,  weight 247 and only 24 years old. Im considered a lightweight and in a month will be getting my surgery (vertical Sleeve). Im super excited and am wondering if other lightweights has problems with loose skin and if it was really bad? Thanks!

You are pretty young...I bet if you exercise this won't be much of an issue for you..I have some problems with loose skin expecially my arms and breast but I would rather have the extra skin then the extra fat :) Also, because of some serious fatigue I haven't been very good at exercise either..I feel like if I exercised more this wouldn't be much of an issue...congratulations on your upcoming surgery!! Keep us updated on how it goes!

I'm 62 and look like a melted candle.

But you shouldn't have any issues as long as you exercise and moisturize.

LOL Price!  You are too funny!  And your description is right on target for me.  I'm 55 and still losing but the center of my abdomen reall DOES look like a melting candle.

Everybody is different. I agree with whoever said loose skin is a small price to pay for not being fat. I am 65 and will want a tummy tuck, bit have been surprised how well my arms and legs are doing.

Your age is hugely in your favor, but no one can predict how you will look. Exercise and good skin care help.

It makes me so happy when I hear about a young person being smart enough to make the choice to have WLS!!   You will not only  extended your life in years but also  in fulfillment.  You are going to be able to do all the things you have ever dreamed of!!!

I have high doubts that you will have any loose skin.  Youth and elasticity is on your side.  You would be smart though to start an exercise program as soon as your doctor allows you just to make your body look awesome!

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

no significant   loose skin issues here .  I started   about where  U are ..and lost around 100 lbs . I think exercise on the way down really  does make a big difference  in the end result .  There  are skin peeling  scrubs U can us e that  help  tighten things up  too  ... and exposure to hesun and wind and the sea also helps .

Given your young age, my guess is that you'll tighten up really well.  I did when I lost in my early 20's.
This time around in my mid 40's, I have saggy skin in some area's but nothing that I can't live with.  :0)
