Yoplait Commercial pulled
Because it could encourage eating disorders. Or suggest that such behavior is normal.

Is the message that this yogurt tastes as good as cheesecake? That you should make healthy food choices at work? Or that, even if you're thin, you're still not thin enough?
For people coping with anorexia and bulimia, a commercial showing a thin person anxiously doing mental gymnastics in order to justify eating dessert—and then denying herself the treat because she wants to be even thinner—could reinforce the idea that such deliberations are healthy and normal, says Jenni Schaefer, an author and public speaker who has struggled with both anorexia and bulimia.

WOW....Everytime I saw this commercial I never thought about eatting disorders but my first thought was about making better choices and not about the Cheesecake flavored yogurt that they were advertising, so I can understand how someone with an eating disorder would see it.
My DD had an eating disorder in high school so I'm going to ask her if she saw it and ask her opinion.

See, now I've seen that commercial and to me the gal wanting the cheesecake looks heavier then the yogurt gal. Now that ticked me off because to me it shows that overweight folks couldn't make a healthy choice if it killed em. I don't see anything that could be construed as encouraging eating disorders.
I thought the girl doing mental gymnastics was a little plump when I first saw the commericial and that the girl eating the yogurt was much smaller..so I don't know get the whole anorexia thing..now if the super skinny girl in the commercial was doing all of that then I might feel that way but I don't know I think sometimes we just think about things too much..

As someone who has battled with anorexia and bulimia i must say i def see why they pulled it...they need to start pulling alot more stuff of tv too!! i limit so much tv in my home cuz it can be too influencing on kids today...ive got a 7 year old neice and i have heard of other children too that are already obsessed with their weight and looks...
I never noticed how much the two women weighed. They both look normal to me. But I hate that commercial.
I hate how that first woman talks to herself and obsesses over food. Her running commentary as she tries not to eat cheesecake because it's "bad" frustrates me to no end. I often end up yelling at the screen -- just have the effing cheesecake already!
I believe it's better to have a small piece of an indulgent food once in a while rather than training yourself to settle for less tasty alternatives, many of which aren't that much better nutritionally than your real choice, because it's more important to be a certain weight on the scale than to eat food that gives you pleasure. Sure, the lady who had the yogurt acts like it's as fun to eat as the cheesecake but I've had both and she isn't fooling me.

I agree with mac Madame
chitosan plus one tiny slice of real cheesecake in the morning ( then a run) .. isnt gonna do anything to the waistline ...
the alernative is six cheesacke flavored yogurts which is ...CHEESY
abd still feels like a rip-off
the BEST alternative for me though is t TASTE the first and try to duplicate it using fat free dairy ingredients and splenda and munch away guilt - free
ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING can be made fat free and sugar free in my experience ... and awesomely deliciously
