Good Morning. People will forget you were ever fat
It's the strangest thing. Your family, friends and acquaintances will forget you were ever fat. Or, they will catch themselves after making some comment. It's funny to watch their face when it dawns on them you used to be fat and what they just said was really stupid. Just go with it, they just forgot or it didn't occur to them. Now, I don't mean to let them get away with prejudiced hateful statements about obese people, but if they make a comment like "oh, but you wouldn't know about that", just smile and in your heart know that they accept you just as you are now. Life will get normal again and not everything will be focused around your weight. Hard to believe, but it will happen one day. Hang tough, babeeees!

And some people never knew.
I had PT for a pelvic floor issue last fall. The PT commented that the issue was "unusual" for someone as "tiny" as me. I explained how I was now a tiny shell around the much bigger issues from before.
Then last week we went to a car show with DH's classic vette. I had a coupon for a BOGO at Culvers, and walked over to get dinner. There was no crosswalk, so I waited until the street was clear and started to cross. An SUV screeched out of the Culvers lot without stopping, and slammed on the brakes. The idiot woman driver leaned out and shouted "What do you think you're doing??" Since it was (or should have been) obvious, I simply said "Crossing the street." She shouted back, "You skinny ***** it's not a crosswalk!"
I laughed and laughed.
Most friends are now used to my new size, which makes me happy. People I know but don't see often are still VERY confused. And I'm still startled when I catch a glimpse of myself in a mirror or window.

I'm not to the "they've forgotten I was fat" stage yet either. And thanks to my middle and some other areas that still need to redistribute, it's gonna be awhile yet.
And I'd love to hear the skinny ***** comment, LOL.

I do know what you mean, Gina. Sometimes I find myself forgetting it too!! A friend of mine complains and complains about feeling crappy, is always sick, depressed, etc. She is overweight and doesn't take care of herself (should have sounded more familiar). Well, another friend and I were talking like, "Duh, if she would stop eating the McDonalds and get to exercising, she would feel so much better!" Later, I had to laugh......I wondered how many people have probably said that about me!
