Welcome back, Sue!!! Congrats on your anniversary and bday!!!

We eat at the table every meal --- helps to have a 5 yr old in the house.

Meg, I hear you.  We've had our three grandsons this week while their parents vacation in Mexico.  What fun, but exhausting.

Oh Ruthie, I love your mom's t-shirt.  Yeah, I've kind of been sailing along, enjoying the new body, buying some new clothes, eating too much, exercising too little.  I'm getting right back on that horse after the 4th.

No, I'm not eating ice cream.  My grandkids are here and my son and daughter in law will be here on the 4th.  I'm going to start posting my food after the holidays, but I will still be eating my chicken patties, brussel sprouts, etc.  I have one bag of apple chips I'm going to finish today, and that's it.  After the 4th is when my excercising is going to start in earnest.

HI Sue,

Happy Birthday and Congratulations on your 39 years together!   I turned 60 last October and I can tell you that age doesn't matter as much in this body that I get to live in today.

I do not eat at the table.  I'm not sure where my table it!  Ok, not totally true.  I eat breakfast at my desk at work.  Lunch is either in the kitchen with friends or at my desk if I was able to get out and walk during lunchtime.  Dinner is always in front of the TV.  I eat slower in front of the TV.

I don't snack in the evening because I eat dinner around 7pm and I'm generally full.  I make sure to eat enough to get me through to morning.  I used to snack in front of the tv prior to WLS but I don't feel the need to anymore.  If I do get that rush I'll eat part of an apple and that takes care of it.

If you live close to Trader Joe's, try the roasted seaweed snack.  $.99 for 60 calories and just a few carbs.  It's an acquired taste but once you're hooked, you're hooked!   Kudos on kicking the apple crisps to the curb!

Thank you Lee for the info.  I eat my breakfast and lunch at my desk at work, and try real hard to just relax.  I've started cooking extra chicken patties and bought some deli chicken so I will eat those instead of the apple chips.  I feel so much better at 60 than I did at 50.  Off the damn meds, and alot more energy.  I need to keep reminding myself of this when I get frustrated.

Good job Sue!  I have to be careful of deli meats because they pack the pounds on me, or at least keep me from losing.  Even walking an average of 12 miles a day on vacation, I came home up 2 pounds because I ate deli him (baked and sliced right off the leg of the piggie).  I find that I don't even enjoy that salty taste much anymore.   I think that it's great that you're cooking food ahead.  that works well for me too.  If there's nothing healthy, I'll want to grab something else.  Now I keep apples and berries around both at home and work so that I don't have excuses.  I do love the new Quest bars in the peanut butter flavor and keep those in my desk for emergencies along with protein crisps and protein powder.  If I goof up, it's by choice.  My weigh****cher leader keeps telling me that it's all about my choices.  Do I want to lose, maintain or gain, the choice is mine.
