There isn't much I don't like.  I love my protein drinks, just about any of them in coffee and some in shakes.  Read my product reviews of late to get some examples and jody has a slew of receipes on her home page.  You just have to learn to enjoy those tiny bites.  I've never had any problem with any foods but some weren't as good as I wanted them to be and won't repeat them.  Which is a good thing, I think.

It gets better.  You will enjoy eating again.

 thanks, price.

i'm afraid of spending even MORE money on things i may not use.  poor hubby is doing his best, and being SO sweet and caring, and i have loaded up the fridge with puddings and jello (that we made ourselves because i found i cant do the 'sugar free' stuff) that i then didnt eat...  freezer is full of broth that i WILL eat and cook with.  have tried lots of protein drinks, and gagged at each one, always hoping to find "the one".  some i tried and found that i couldnt deal with the non-sugar sweetener.  the liquid tylenol i found i cant tolerate.  it's a lot of money to give all this stuff to others who could use it!

Hi Jenny

I'm not having all the same problems as you, but after two or three bites, I'm done.  That combined with understanding my new lactose intolerance and those pesky sugar alcohols that lurk everywhere, I can be very hungry, but still not interested in eating!

But soon I'll be in onederland, so it will be worth it!

Oh I feel the same as you do right now.  I am almost six weeks out from surgery and I'm still having problems finding foods that make my pouch happy.  Being lactose intolerant has eliminated my protein powders I used pre-op.  I've had some chicken - it's  ok, but I haven't hit that point where I want it all the time.  Cottage cheese is ok, doesn't seem to bother my pouch but I can't eat too much.  I tried adding SF gelatin and some low-fat non-dairy whipped topping to the cottage cheese to make a fluff salad of sorts...can't eat much of it without hurting.  Haven't tried much in the way of meat other than the chicken.  Might give tuna a try, maybe some grilled tilapia.  I'm wanting to enjoy my foods again too and I know the day will come.  I haven't bounced back as quickly as I thought I would and I'm disappointed but everyone says that will get better too.  I don't regret for one second having this surgery...I'm just ready to feel normal again.  Whatever normal is these days...

On the other hand...my diabetes is in remission....no asthma symptoms anymore...blood pressure is down and no meds.  Not sure about cholesterol but I have labwork on Thursday for my endocrinologist so I might find that out then.  The fibromyalgia even seems better, although not completely gone.

My husband took pics of me on the day of surgery and at four weeks out.  A HUGE difference!! Now that does feel good to look at the change in my body in just a few weeks.  I go to see my surgeon on Thursday as well for my six week checkup and six week weigh in.  I am excited!!
