Good Morning. Full signals from a protein shake?

Are you kidding me?!?  I have 2 protein coffees every morning for breakfast and today I'm getting that running nose, yucky stomach feeling after 1 1/2... crap! My stomach is apparently already smaller than your average DS stomach. Is it changing and getting smaller? Is the vegus nerve overly sensitive for some reason? What gives?  {sigh}  This is way out of my rut and comfort zone and I like to be in control, dangit all! I don't like surprises at 4 years post-op. Ending rant and whine session...

Anyone want to purpose a theory or share a "surprise" of your own?

Y'all have a good Wednesday. East Coasters, I hope you're getting ready for Irene.

I'm still looking for how to determine what full is - I'm hungry, eating slowly, then wham! I realize I've eaten too much, and will feel full for hours, and can't even drink. Since I'm just out of surgery, this happens in less than 1/4 c.  Any suggestions from those on the board would be helpful.

I don't have good full signals.  Last night I had steak and asperagus.  I was fine after eating and in fact wanted more but that was my head, not my tummy.  At least 2 hrs later I made my protein shake for the evening and struggled to get it down.  I should have stopped and given up but oh no, I pushed it, thinking this is just liquid, why is this so hard.  Didn't get sick but was way fuller than I needed to be.  I guess I was still full from the steak but it had been at least 2 hrs with nothing.

I don't have a theory.  I haven't had it happen in the morning with my coffee.  That sucks.

Wish I got some kind of full sign. The only thing I've identified is a burp....but it happens long after I stop eating.

I also dont have any full signs, which isnt a problem as a general rule, since I am still a pre-plate portioner.

When we go out to eat though, the thing that I *think* has saved me from overeating is the thought "just ONE more bite."

I read the VSG board from present to the beginning of the forum when I was researching and NEVER EVER EVER was there a post that said

"OMG YALL!!  I AM SO HAPPY I TOOK THAT LAST BITE!!"

:}

So the "just one more bite" thought gets me to push my plate away, cover it with my napkin so there is no picking, and if its something that I feel compelled to keep eating, I dump some sort of something over it and THEN cover it with my napkin. *(sorry server!!)

I dont have a theory but I do have small pouch days and days where I seem to be hungry all day long (Hate pms!).

I too have the runny nose signal, isnt it the craziest thing? But I am glad I have the signal. I am glad that I learned it here from reading, it probable saved me from getting sick.

Swinging critters here for those preparing for Irene!

Hope all is well for those after the quake yesterday.

Gina, sorry your body has surprised you again...maybe it will settle down again soon.

I do have a very definitive full signal. I SNEEZE! And sneeze and sneeze...And it's almost immediate. I'm glad I have one and of all the possible ones, it's not a bad one.

Yes, anyone within 200 miles of either Carolina coast and Florida (almost all of it) please get prepared...protein shakes, water put aside, and all your presciptions and vitamins ready to go...and have some cash handy as ATM's do shut down.

Suprisingly I have no theory other than maybe your nerve is a bit over stimulated or your insides have decided to do a little shifting over night

I unfortunately do not get the signals until it's way to late sometimes and that is because I'm rushing through my meal or chatting while eating

I think every day brings something different for me.  I hope I still get some surprises at 4 years!

I used to get the hic cups as a sign to stop eating but now I get them as a sign that I have taken a couple bites to many and by then It's to late!   I need to start using some common sense and self control!!!!!
