Am I a Natural-Born Vegetarian ? ( or tending that way )

I was talking with my houseguest  lastweek  , a Trinidadian  gentleman who  is around  60 but looks  SO much younger .    He is  a lifelong semi vegetarian in the sense  that he occasionally eats fish  .. but no meat or dairy .   He is  built  so lean , wiry  and is unbelievably strong (  we've  worked on many  construction projects  where  he has absolutely AMAZED me with his strength  and endurance ) .

He like me  was born with a lifelong  aversion to meat .   He really didnt  become a vegetarian by choice ...  the decision was kind of made FOR him by his body .

I feel the same way  and  thats been one of the biggest  stumbling blocks for me with  following the  low - carb lifestyle .   Because  after a few meals of MEAT  and more MEAT   I dont  even want to LOOK at the stuff  ....

I WILL  eat meat but  maybe twice  aweek ... NOT  twice a DAY !!!

Now  interesting ly  since I strated  listening to my body  and just eating what it craved... ( with an emphasis on pushing  PROTEIN of course  .. I try  to put  cheese  on my rice and beans  even though they are in  THESELVES  a complete protein  ...  ) I drink my WHEY  ...

I notice that I stand up  STRAIGHTER  ... that  I  DONT  crave sweets  or  get tempted by the " 100  calorie "  packs  of evil  my husband has  EVERYWHERE   in his house ... my joints  seem more flexible ,  my skin  looks  smooth and full  ...  and even my body has filled out in "  all the right places " ( my  boobs went back to C cups )  while  remaining tight and firm in the others ... ( like my arms and my waist -  always  trouble spots )    GO FIGURE  .  COULD it JUST  be  change in DIET ?

I don't think you have to have meat to be successful and healthy, but I wouldn't do without whey protein. Please be careful not to compare yourself to him physically. We all know genetics and gender have a lot to do with how we process, convert and store nutrients we eat.

Its almost like  it replaced the missing  cartilage between my vertebrae in my neck and my spine -  Im THAT much more capable of extening my neck - literally like TWO inches -  and pushing my  chest forward and arching  my  back .   I can PULL  my shulders back and really do  model contortions .... and ive been having  and INCREDIBLY  hard time with that  for so long ....   so go figure .  Ive always wanted  dancers posture  and  have NOT Had the requisite flexibility  to achieve it  until now ....

Just RICE  and BEANS gave it to me      But  I guess  when Ur body craves something it NEEDS   something in it  ...

I have so much energy right now  after eating a small plate of chickpeas and brown rice fr breakfast   ( after 2 proetin chai teas )  im going out to run in the rain

my sister has been doing vegan before 6 and feels like it has been great for her.  I love my veggies and eat them 2-3-4 times a day but I also love meat and would be very sad without it.

I was a vegetarian for 10 years..still ate milk and cheese products but no meat or fish...I was not very healthy while on the diet as far as my bmi goes..ate too many carbs but I know if I had the carbs I would have been healthier..had to go off the diet when I got my celiacs diagnosis because I just couldn't figure out what to eat..will only eat chicken and turkey within moderation..just don't like meat very much...more power to you if you do want to go vegetarian, I just don't see any other way for me personally..

I'm all good with eating meat, although dairy suits me better most days.   My sister is a vegetarian of sorts because she loves potatoes and breads... so much that it gave her a diagnosis of diabetes...   When I asked her about why she doesn't eat meat, her timeless classic response was...

"I prefer not to eat anything that has, or used to have, a face."

Gotta love it.

Sorry for the hijack Mini... you just reminded me of it is all...  ;-)

U know for what its WORTH   I could Never Stop  thinking about eating MORE food  ..  until i allowed myslef that  breakfast of rice and beans .   And its a SMALL   breakfast .. just a few hundred calories .

But i dont want or require anything else  until  dinnertime  basically  .  ( i also do have my whey  in the form of protein  tea ) .  So far so good  ... the only ISSUE i have had is a scary episode of heart-beating   ( possible dumping )  today from the SALT   ....   grrrr
