WOW !! WIOW !! WUBBZA!!
I DON't BELIEVE It but I got on my LYING scale this morning and well... the average number was 126 !! ( its been 129-132 for a WHILE now )
im soewhat heavier than that ... but even this scale can document a downward trend . The funny thing is I actually lost the weight by finally giving up trying to lose it if that makes any sense ... I gave into my craving to make rice and beans and more rice n beans every other day and allowed that to fill me up ( and bloat me a bit too because of the salt and the bulk ) .
The only negative thing about rice and beans for me ( made fat free of course usually with east Indian spices like cardamom and cumin and a variety of curries or Spanish style or Flipino Style or Moroccan Style ) is I want to eat MORE of it two or three hours later rather than waiting for proper mealtimes . But If I eat a salad or some fish at that time ... Ill be fine .. or even remember to drink water . Im not really HUNGRY ... I just want more RICE AND BEANS
Its also really yummy to throw some pattypan squash in there at the end of cooking and make a stew ... and white meat chicken pieces ( well spiced ) can go in there too ...
I usually throw in toasted brown rice along withthe soaked beans into a pot where i ve braised garlic and onion ( perhaps ginger ) and spices... and then just simmer for a few hours in chicken stock . The only bean i woudl caution to use in a limited fashion is the chickpea and the edamame both of which contain some fat . Those both make the dish a bit fattening .
I have to say I'm very grateful that my weight is holding despite my eating with my husband in restaurants on the weekends and despite my propensity to cook and bake carbs ( albeit fat free and almost always sugar free ones ).
Im not really baking for myself but these darn guys I'm surrounded by just love baked goods - go figure .
what can I do whenthey pester me for strudel ?

I think the best thing is just knowingthat normal "living " doesnt make U gain weight . To a non MO person of course that very SENTENCE would be PREPOSTEROUS but every MO person has YEAS of experience with EVERY SINGLE THING making U gain weight right ?
im so glad that im STILL in the ZONE !!
