I am Really Nervous Now

This morning my weight was 103.  I am officially underweight.  My efforts to gain weight, or even stay the same don't seem to be working.  I am losing weight as fast as I was when I was actively trying to lose weight.  I reached my first goal around February and I have lost over 35lbs since then.
I have tried increasing my calories in a healthy way, more protein and fat.  I add cheese to everything and eat avocados whenever I can.
I figured it would have to stop eventually but it's not.  I feel as bad about my appearance as I did when I was obese.  I had an appointment with a person to help me find work and she asked me for my ID and I handed her my drivers license.  It was from 2007, when I weighed about 145lbs and she looked at it and then at me and she had a shocked look on her face and it wasn't in a good way, it was more of a sympathetic look.
I have also been fighting a cold for over a week.  My daughter got it, too, and hers was gone in a few days and mine is lingering.  My boyfriend thinks it because my resistance is low.
I am afraid of going to the doctor.  I don't know what they are going to say.  I'm afraid they may want to put a tube in me or something.  My biggest fear is going under 100lbs.  I have decided that if that happens I will definitely go to the doctor.  Where is the bounce back?  I keep waiting for it and it doesn't seem to happen.
I still have a feeling that eventually I will regain, maybe more then I want.  I was thinking this is temporary but how long?  I am over 13 months out now.  I feel like as much of a failure as I did when I regained 100lbs, like I am not doing this right.
Should I drink protein shakes all day?  I get in between 125 to 150 grams of protein a day.  I am worried that it may be dangerous to get more then that.  I try to add things like fruit and yogurt to make them smoothies but I don't think my body can handle too many carbs at once.

Oh Tazz, I wish I had an answer for you but I can send you hugs  .  I guess if the extra protein and fat isn't helping, carbs are the next thing to try.  I agree, go slow, and stay healthy if possible.  Fruit, whole grains, no sugar and white stuff.

Hugs and good luck.

First of all, Lots of HUGS.

Second, contact your doctor, NOW. It is easier to prevent more slippage than to try to come up from a lower level.

Can you tolerate peanut butter? It is high in calories, but has fat and protein.

Have you tried other types of nuts, if you can tolerate them?

Avocados are good. I would use them in everything, even mix your meat up with it.

Use lowfat milk.

I think you need some good, sound medical advice and assistance. Your health is beginning to suffer, if you are getting ill and not recovering in a timely manner. I wonder, if you are even absorbing the protein that you are consuming? How long ago were your labs checked? What was your albumin (protein marker)? Are you having any swelling of your extremities?

Just some thoughts.

My protein was 6.8 and my albumin was 3.9 in July.  No swelling of my extremities.
I actually bought some fresh ground almond butter today at the store and I will be having that with my snack today.

The labs are a bit low, but not dangerously so. Vitalady likes protein in the 7's and albumin in the 4's, so you're not far off.

Almond butter is so good!!!

Take Care,

Tazz, I would call the doc and ask to be put on Creon (digestive enzyme). Don't add empty carbs and get caught in that do loop again. Add more protein shakes and ask for the Creon. Keep us posted.

I forgot about Creon.  I will ask about that.
As far as the protein shakes, how much is safe to have a day?  Can I have 200 grams or is that too much?  I get around 125 to 150 a day as it is and wasn't sure if it was safe to go much higher.

It's safe to go that high with a combo of food and shakes. Apparently you're still malabsorbing like gang busters.

Sugeon told me I wouldn't have hardly any malabsorption and I didn't need to worry about vitamins so much.  I questioned that because he said my common channel was now 200cc and I have heard of people losing a lot of weight with that length common channel.  How do you know if you are malabosbing?
