You will lose weight at 4 months out even without malabsorption just because you are eating so little, so it would be very rare to stop losing at 4 months unless you were really, really trying by eating high calories foods. It is common for the weight loss to slow down at different points because we are able to eat more the further out we are but if you are following your plan you will lose weight.
Are you concerned about your weight loss?

This is a sample of what I eat:
coffee with a little cream
30 mg protein shake
chicken or meat or fish with vegies
Tea with crackers (12 gram carbs)
Vitamins
gym
protein shake at 4:00PM
Yogurt or beef jerky at 6:00 PM
Vitamins
Thank you
At 4 months I was getting in about 800 calories a day.
Really work at getting in the water and protein. It does help with the weight loss. I saw that people who got in a lot of protein had good weight loss so I tried it and it really helped. I get in at least 100 grams of protein a day and 100 oz of water. It works so good I am trying to gain some weight back ;)
The only thing I would change is to kill the crackers. Your body needs all the nutrients it can get at this point and it won't get any from refined carbs. Of course I am a carbophobe so take that for what it's worth but I find that avoiding all refined carbs really keeps the cravings away.
ETA Just to add, your original question was about absorbing more calories after 4 months. If that is all you are eating, even if you absorbed every one of those calories you should still lose weight. Try adding more food, especially protein, and see what happens.

About every two weeks, eat more good food than what you have listed...esp protein and veggies. Try and get your protein up to 100 grams daily minimum...Those of us who malabsorb, have problems getting enough protein thru our food esp in the first two years.
Also, lightweights do slow down, esp as they get closer to their goal weight.
I have been at a crawl for my weight loss:
Monthly loss from Jan 24th to Sept 24th:
-21.8 1st month |
-12.4 2nd month |
-9 3rd month |
-4.8 4th month |
-3 5th month |
-5.2 6th month |
-2.8 7th month |
-4 8th month |
I lost more in the first month than I have in the last FIVE months...but I am still losing and my body has gotten smaller in spite of the almost non-existent lost.
The weeks I didn't lose or gained, I still tended to lose inches. Have you been keeping a record of that?
A;lso do yourself a favor...STAY OFF THE scale for a week at a time, minimum...preferably for the entire month. If it calls your name, hide it or even get rid of it.
