feeling sad

We all go through buyers remorse at first but I can tell you it will get better!~I am 2 years out. Around the holidays I get a smidge of it from time to time only because food is such a social thing at that time. I have come to reap the rewards. I know if I eat those things my glass slipper will crumble. My theory is nothing can taste as good as this feels. I am no longer carrying comorbids that crumbled me to tiny pieces. I have myself back in return I have some life rules that I have to follow. In return I get to wear cute clothes, smile in the mirror and know today I am stronger for the experience.
Give yourself some time. Alot of the tears could be hormones I did my share of crying at first too. It will all get better!

Thanks again!  I will keep telling myself this.  I am truly looking forward to the comorbids leaving and having the benefits that this surgery will be bringing to my life.  I'm sure the boo-hoo's now are just temporary.

It just keeps getting better and better as you're able to move more easily in the world.  This Thanksgiving and all of your sadness around it will be a distant memory before you know it.  What you're going through is so normal as we let go of the part of us that used food to comfort ourselves in most situations.  While others are eating, sit and quietly fantasize about those gorgeous outfits you're going to fit into soon.  Life just gets better with each passing month.

I'm one year out today. I can tell you it gets better and better. You will learn new behaviors that don't focus only on food.

It's a process and sadness is a part of it. The weight loss lets loose lots of hormones to add to our sense of loss of who we are and what we have always done.

Try to allow yourself the feelings and the emotional roller coaster. You'll be on an upswing again soon.
