I'm a bit frightened and quite tired of people saying "But you don't need surgery. You're not that overweight." These are the same people who have telling me what I wasn't doing right to lose weight all these years, of course. So thanks to you all for this forum!

DD, congrats on getting your date! I have been getting the same comments. I just usually says thanks for your concern, but if my surgeon / insurance didn't think I needed the surgery, I would have been refused/ denied. That usually shuts them up.
