Vitamins, no carbs, ketosis?
There are so many 'meal plans' and vitamin routines that people are talking about that I was wondering what vitamins everyone takes in addition to a multi and what type of diet you are on (I'm strictly calorie and protein counting, not worried about carbs, but have no room for them anyway).

They do vary pretty pretty much. I am 15 months out and at goal and this is what works for me.
I stay low carb, no white carbs basically. I eat 4 meals a day and have 2-3 protein drinks. Protein around 130-160, carbs 30-50 net. I don't track calories.
Other than multis, I do calcuim, B12, folic acid, A, D3. I don't do iron because I have never needed it.

I had the VSG about 15.5 months ago and have been maintaining within a 2 lb window since mid-April. I log my food intake everyday and keep within a specific caloric range. I don't eat simple carbs, although, I will have bites of certain foods at the holidays. I no longer restrict my carbs to 40-60/day. Most days I average about 130 or a bit more. The majority of the carbs come from a little fruit, veggies, dairy, some nuts, oatmeal, and a little crispbread. I always have protein with any carbs that I eat.
As you get further out, you will have a bit more room, but when you stick with dense protein, there isn't much room left for other things.
I take one multi-vit/day (based upon my labs, the amount was decreased by the physician, since I was high in certain vitamins (A, Thiamine), Calcium Citrate, vit D3, Thiamine 100 mg/day, fish oil, Vit C, B12.
Hope this helps.
VSG doesn't always require the same amount of supplementation that the malabsorptive surgeries require. Just keep that in mind, when you read the different postings. We generally don't malabsorb protein, although, some people do, so go by your labs.

This was my plan while losing:
Calories: < 800
Protein: > 70 g (we were supposed to aim for 70 to 90 but eventually I was put on the > 100 plan due to my activity level)
Carbs: < 40 g
Fats: < 30 g
Exercise: 4-5x a week for 45 min minimum -- mix of strength and cardio
You start out on liquids of which the majority are protein shakes to get your protein in. Then, over time, you gradually replace the breakfast, lunch and dinner protein shake with a meal.
As the meals get bigger (early out you may only be having a tablespoon of yogurt for breakfast) and you are getting more protein from them, you gradually replace the between meal protein shakes with non-calorie fluids like water and coffee/tea.
You may end up with no protein shakes or you may not. I ended up keeping my morning protein shake for breakfast as my body doesn't really do well with anything more solid that early in the AM most of the time. I often end the day with a protein hot chocolate (sort of a mini-shake) to top my protein off as well. (Or just because I want it. LOL)
For supplementation, the basics that everyone does is:
Multi-vitamin: 2x adult dose if it's non-bariatric
Calcium: 1500 mg (3 dose of 500 mg each) of calcium citrate (NOT carbonate!!)
Then, depending on your individual needs, you may also need Vitamin D, iron or B12 supplementation. I take an iron pill because my multi has no iron in it. However, I got carried away with it and ended up with high iron and had to cut back. I also supplement Vitamin D because I was low pre-op so that one has nothing to do with the surgery. I've never needed B12 but some VSGers do. I also take a fish oil pill because I don't eat a lot of fish.
